The fragmentary, but significant and novel results can be submitted as short communications.
Review papers are accepted by invitation of the Editor-in-Chief. Interested authors of review papers need to send
the outline of the review together with a short CV of the main author/s to the Editor-in-Chief before submission
of the paper.
Procedure – Manuscripts should be submitted to the journal via the online manuscript website (http://www.ksnre.or.kr).
Paper length – As a guide, original papers should be up to 8 pages in the journal template, and short communications
should be up to 3 pages.
1. One of contributors must hold membership in the Korean Society for New and Renewable Energy (KSNRE hereafter). However, the contributor especially admitted by KSNRE can be an exception for the membership.
2. Types of papers are original research papers, short communications, and review papers. The fragmentary, but significant and novel results can be submitted as short communications. presented in following “Writing manuscript” of KSNRE. The “Writing manuscript” is determined by Editorial
board.
6. All manuscripts are treated as confidential. They are peer-reviewed by at least 2 anonymous reviewers selected by editors. Revisions of the manuscript can be required by reviewers. Rejected papers will not be peer-reviewed again.
7. Editorial board will decide the acceptance of manuscripts, volume of the Journal to be published, order of papers to be published, and revisions of manuscripts. The reception date of the manuscript is when it is first submitted to KSNRE. The acceptance date of the manuscript is when the final review is completed. Any revisions should be submitted within 2 months after notification of decision. After this period, the first submission date becomes invalid. Submitted manuscripts are not to be returned.
8. Manuscripts which do not follow the Journal’s publication polices may be held from publication by the decisions of editorial board. Authors are responsible for contents and styles of manuscripts, as well as misprinting.

10. On the title page, include title, full name of each author and institution where the research was done with e-mail address. The signature of the corresponding author should be included in the title page.
The following checklist will be useful during the final checking of an article prior to sending it to the journal for review. Please consult this Instruction to Authors for further details of any item.
Ensure that the following items are present:
1) One author has been designated as the corresponding author with contact details:
∙ E-mail address
∙ Full postal address
2) All necessary files have been uploaded, and contain:
∙ Keywords
∙ All figure captions
∙ All tables (including title, description, footnotes)
3) Further considerations
∙ Manuscript has been ‘spell-checked’ and ‘grammar-checked’
∙ All references mentioned in the Reference list are cited in the text, and vice versa
∙ Permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Internet)
KSNRE is committed to upholding the integrity of the scientific record. Authors should refrain from misrepresenting research results which could damage the trust in New & Renewable Energy, the professionalism of scientific authorship, and ultimately the entire scientific endeavour.
Maintaining integrity of the research and its presentation can be achieved by following the rules of good scientific
practice, which include:
∙ The manuscript has not been submitted to more than one journal for simultaneous consideration.
∙ The manuscript has not been published previously (partly or in full), unless the new work concerns an expansion
of previous work (please provide transparency on the re-use of material to avoid the hint of text-recycling
(“self-plagiarism”)).
∙ A single study is not split up into several parts to increase the quantity of submissions and submitted to various
journals or to one journal over time (e.g. “salami-publishing”).
∙ No data have been fabricated or manipulated (including images) to support your conclusions.
∙ No data, text, or theories by others are presented as if they were the author’s own (“plagiarism”). Proper
acknowledgements to other works must be given (this includes material that is closely copied (near verbatim),
summarized and/or paraphrased), quotation marks are used for verbatim copying of material, and permissions
are secured for material that is copyrighted.
Important note: The submitted manuscript is screened for plagiarism by using CrossCheck.
∙ Consent to submit has been received explicitly from all co-authors, as well as from the responsible authorities
– tacitly or explicitly – at the institute/organization where the work has been carried out, before the work is
submitted.
∙ Authors whose names appear on the submission have contributed sufficiently to the scientific work and therefore
share collective responsibility and accountability for the results.
In addition:
∙ Requesting to add or delete authors at revision stage, proof stage, or after publication is a serious matter and
may be considered when justifiably warranted. Justification for changes in authorship must be compelling and
may be considered only after receipt of written approval from all authors and a convincing, detailed explanation
about the role/deletion of the new/deleted author. In case of changes at revision stage, a letter must accompany
the revised manuscript. In case of changes after acceptance or publication, the request and documentation must
be sent via the Publisher to the Editor-in-Chief. In all cases, further documentation may be required to support
your request. The decision on accepting the change rests with the Editor-in-Chief and may be turned down.
Therefore authors are strongly advised to ensure the correct author group, corresponding author, and order of authors at submission.
∙ Upon request authors should be prepared to send relevant documentation or data in order to verify the validity
of the results. This could be in the form of raw data, samples, records, etc.
If there is a suspicion of misconduct, the journal will carry out an investigation following the Committee on
Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. If, after investigation, the allegation seems to raise valid concerns, the accused
author will be contacted and given an opportunity to address the issue. If misconduct has been established beyond
reasonable doubt, this may result in the Editor-in-Chief’s implementation of the following measures, including, but
not limited to:
∙ If the article is still under consideration, it may be rejected and returned to the author.
∙ If the article has already been published online, depending on the nature and severity of the infraction, either
an erratum will be placed with the article or in severe cases complete retraction of the article will occur. The
reason must be given in the published erratum or retraction note.
∙ The author’s institution may be informed.
